Teaching and courses – Online & Face to Face

I’m every bit as passionate about teaching as I am about taking photographs.

My goal is to help photographers of all ages and ambitions define and refine their approach, to learn and retain the skills necessary to achieve their ambitions.

I currently teach all ranges of practical photographic skills, from those just beginning to those more advanced, from the ages of 17 to 80+. In craft skills, I work with students on subjects as diverse as architectural photography to lighting to portraiture, alternative processes and more.

I have great depth of knowledge in analogue and digital processes and use both approaches in my personal as well as in my commercial work for a wide range of international clients.

In technology skills, I deliver courses at all levels of Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo and Capture 1.

My formal qualifications include City and Guilds 6502 certification for teaching in the further and continuing education sector.

Online teaching

I’m happy to offer learners online courses, either in a group or directly in a one-to-one setting. I find that software as a general topic works very effectively and I can offer you online courses at any level in Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo and Capture 1. I support this teaching by sending you detailed step-by-step PDFs to help you work through along with me – they’re also detailed, so that they act as longer term reference to further consolidate your learning.

Face-to-Face teaching

I also teach at City Lit College, located in Covent Garden, central London.

Clicking this link will take you to a digest of courses I am currently teaching there. City Lit have made significant efforts to permit their courses to be held in their interior spaces and which are as Covid-19 secure as is realistically possible.

I’m also happy to offer you the opportunity to receive direct, one-to-one teaching on subjects from basic camera skills to the most advanced, professional level techniques. This is offered in outdoor spaces, in recognition of the issues relating to Covid-19.
